Winnipeg-born brand Surplus Market continues their upward trajectory as they open their first physical shop-in-shop experience inside Hudson’s Bay at CF Polo Park.  The new physical location features premium vintage and upcycled apparel while also offering a cafe experience with the independent brand Never Better Coffee.

Originally operating as a pop-up event, they offered consumers a chance to buy rare and limited second-hand pieces like clothing, housewares, and vinyl. The events gained popularity due largely to the fact that the events also featured an array of food vendors, cocktail bars, visual artists and DJs. Essentially it was the place to be in Winnipeg.

“Sustainability in retail needs to be prioritized by big box stores, so we’re thrilled that Hudson’s
Bay sees the value in what we are doing here. It shows that they’re thinking about the same things we are,” says Andrew Sannie, Co-Founder of Surplus Market and Grape Labs.

With the move from periodic events to a permanent shop-in-shop experience, Surplus Market is destined to continue making moves and building the community around them. Can’t make it to Winnipeg? Shop some of their excellent selects now, here.
