Stone Island is known for being favoured by celebrities from Drake to A$AP Rocky, as well as for its high profile collaborations with the likes of Nike and Supreme. And as if the Italian outwear specialists weren’t in demand enough, they are getting ready to drop an extremely limited edition reflective jacket that will likely become a holy grail for Stone Island and general outerwear enthusiasts everywhere. The jacket is part of the new Prototype Research Series, a new range that will specifically showcase the newest and most experimental technologies and styles that Stone Island is working on. It’s an anorak-style that includes such bells and whistles as double front pockets with nylon-taped edges, adjustable cuffs and a bottom hem drawstring. It is hand-sprayed and then oven dried before being laser printed with all-over three-dimensional effects. If all that wasn’t enough, its proprietary finish features a resin coating embedded with thousands of glass microspheres. Did we mention they were also water and wind repellant? These incredible, hand-crafted jackets are limited to just 100 individually numbered pieces, and will drop online this Friday, November 4.
