One of Toronto’s favourite street festivals, Yorkville Murals, is set to return to Toronto starting August 20-28, 2022. Yorkville Murals, which takes place in Toronto’s high-end Yorkville neighbourhood, is a fun cultural event that celebrates contemporary muralism and public art. Spread over two weekends, the event is anchored by the creation and presentation of exceptional new art spread throughout the area. Coupled with special events, food and drink, and unique retail experiences, it is definitely one of the better summer street parties.
What really highlights the uniquely special cultural importance of the event, aside from the incredible artists and their art, is that this year global streetwear e-commerce app StockX has joined the party. Partnering with streetwear brand Almost Home, the two have created a uniquely Toronto-centric capsule collection available exclusively through StockX. The exclusive StockX Yorkville Murals capsule collection will include a hoodie, crewneck sweater, and a t-shirt, all of which feature the Almost Home iconic embroidery design, paying homage to Toronto and the festival.
As you would expect, customers will be able to purchase the items online via DropX, StockX’s direct-to-consumer product release method starting August 20th at 12 PM ET. HOWEVER, StockX will also have a pop-up shop on-site at the festival, which will have limited quantities available to shop IRL.
This year Yorkville Murals features new works, including murals and art installations by Matt Gondek, Ben Johnston, Shelby and Sandy, Mikael B., Florence Solis, Sage Barnes, Fidia and Jordan Sook, among others. All events are free to the general public, except for one, the legendary Yorkville Murals Block Party, which will take place on August 27th from 1 p.m. – 11 p.m. The Block Party is a rooftop event that features DJs curated by NOMAD, VIP bottle service, art, food, and drink. Tickets are available now at yorkvillemurals.com.
