Canadian indie legends Stars, by way of Toronto and Montreal, have been a staple of the scene for nearly twenty years. Today, they have dropped two new songs entitled “Privilege”, taken from the beautiful, reflective standpoint of Amy Millan, and “We Called It Love” which comes from Torquil Campbell’s contemplative and frank point of view. Read the band’s statement below.

Hello. we’re back. we have a new album. it was recorded in Montreal and Connecticut with the great producer Peter Katis. We love him and thank him for being there for us. It’s our first with our friends at Last Gang. We made this record for ourselves, for our kids, and for you. And we are so happy and grateful that you’re still listening to our music. here’s a couple of songs from the record

The new music arrives via Last Gang Records/eOne, which will also see the release of Stars’ forthcoming new album later this year. Last Gang is a Toronto-based music company that has helped to launch the careers of fellow Canadians such as Metric, MSTRKRFT, Crystal Castles, and Death From Above 1979.
