Much of Slaves’ music examines how much we rely on the systems of power around us. You’re a slave to your job, you’re a slave to societal norms, you’re a slave to the products and technologies you use every day. It reminds us a lot of a Joanne the Scammer tweet that says “Capitalism scammed me first.” The punk duo shared the music video for “Spit It Out,” the lead single off their forthcoming second studio album Take Control. It includes production by the Beastie Boys’ Mike D on a track called “Consume or Be Consumed.” Speaking to NME, Mike D said the following.

“I feel right now the world needs an album like this, something that’s more raw and less polished. I was impressed with the band’s strong point of view. They actually speak their minds about social topics.”

The music video is a mash of nightlife scenes from their native Kent. Watch it above.
