Icelandic beauties Sigur Rós have released the band’s first new song since their 2013 album Kveikur. Earlier this week, Sigur Rós launched “Route One,” a 24-hour live broadcast that aired on Iceland’s Ruv 2 & streamed worldwide on YouTube. The broadcast focused on a trip following Route 1 (a road that circles around Iceland), all set to a soundtrack built around “Óveður.” During the broadcast, Sigur Rós also debuted their video for “Óveður” which you can now watch above. Directed by Jonas Åkerlund, the video was shot in the Icelandic town of Grindavík and focuses on a woman, a wolf, blood, bodies and fire. It’s a transfixing stunning piece and the kind of thing you expect from Sigur Rós; the unexpected.
