The newest member of Toronto’s Queen West elite shops has just opened its doors, promising to bring a certain level a cool and style that the up-and-coming neighbourhood so desperately needs. Gentrification does take a bit of time to fully take hold. Community 54 is a neighbourhood lifestyle boutique inspired by creative nostalgia, from classic arcade games and vintage street wear, mixed with new indie brands and contemporary art. First established in the Lower East Side of Manhattan and the team has decided to try their hand at a Toronto location, situated in Parkdale Village.
All this cool stuff aside, the actual shop stocks some of the most unique collaborative pieces the city has to offer. From the limited edition Fool’s Gold x Members Only leather jacket (below), Japanese North Face pieces (which you can NOT get outside of Japan), the COA x Zephyr limited edition Zebra Snapbacks, Good Wood accessories and the GUMBALL 3000 clothing collection, everything you would/could want from a lifestyle all under one roof.
The real charm of Community 54 is that for once, a local retailer is offering up something new and fresh to a city in desperate need of that very thing. I hate having to order all my cool gear online from out of country! Located at 1275 Queen St. West this is definitely a post brunch destination. Happy shopping.
