Sampha has surprised everyone by announcing he will release his own zine, “Shy Light,” described as “a visual exploration of (his) album Process.”
Created in collaboration with London-based designer Grace Wales Bonner, DAZED’s art director Jamie Reid, and LA-based photographers Durimel, the beautiful zine contains both photos and lyrics/poetry. The photographs are from Sampha’s personal archives showing his life in London alongside images captured by Durimel in Freetown, Sierra Leone, which is the city Sampha’s parents are from and where many of his family still live.
The 32-page, full colour zine will be available in June but lucky for us, a digital preview is available to download now.
