Chitose Abe has done it again. sacai’s latest collaboration with Smythson, the nearly 140-year-old London house known for luxury notebooks and leather goods, turns heritage into something delightfully miniature. The trio of sleek black leather clutches merges stationery and fashion in signature sacai style.
Each piece is a clever reinvention of Smythson’s cross-grain leather briefcase: one transforms into a notebook, filled with featherweight Italian paper; another doubles as a passport cover; the third is a small, fully functional bag. The collaboration debuted on sacai’s Spring/Summer 2026 runway, with invites delivered on custom Smythson leather trays, underscoring the tactile, thoughtful world Abe has created.
The Chelsea Notebook bag retails at $475 USD, the passport cover at $485 USD, and the small bag at $640 USD. For sacai, this is another bold partnership following projects with Carhartt WIP, Tomo Koizumi and others. For Smythson, their first collaboration with a fashion designer of Abe’s inventive, boundary-pushing vision and the collection is proof that sacai thrives at the intersection of play and craft.
