Paul Surridge has just been appointed the creative director at Roberto Cavalli.
The English designer is relatively unknown in the fashion industry, but has worked at brands like Calvin Klein, Burberry, Jil Sander, Z Zegna and ACNE Studios. Much of Surridge’s background has been in menswear, making him an unexpected pick for the unabashedly feminine aesthetic of the Italian fashion house.
Surridge has said of his new role:
“This is a unique opportunity to contribute a new chapter to the Roberto Cavalli universe, which positively celebrates the beauty, sensuality, and power of women.”
Surridge’s first collection for Roberto Cavalli will be Spring 2018, which will be shown in early September.
