German luggage maker RIMOWA dives into its industrial archive to revive a distinctive design language originally introduced in 1969 with the Classic Aluminum Grid collection.
Departing from its instantly recognizable vertical grooves, this limited edition release reimagines the brand’s signature aluminum shell with a structured, embossed geometric grid design. It’s a bold yet considered evolution of RIMOWA’s design identity, rooted in the brand’s technical precision and heritage craftsmanship. The collection features three silhouettes to collect: the Classic Hand Carry Case, the Classic Cabin, and the first-ever Classic Trunk produced in limited quantities.
Extending the archival concept, the exterior grid motif continues inside with a soft, quilted lining to match. Core elements of the Classic series remain, including the high-gloss palladium lock system, airplane-debossed rivets, and an infinitely adjustable telescopic handle. Blue leather accents across the handles and luggage tags introduce a subtle contrast, referencing a historical colour palette.
Available starting March 26 through select RIMOWA stores, each piece is crafted in Cologne and finished with an exclusive numbered badge.
