To celebrate their 10th anniversary, Highsnobiety has come together with contemporary menswear brand KITH and PUMA to release ‘A Tale of Two Cities’ sneaker collection. The collection is inspired by KITH’s German and Highsnobiety’s NYC roots, with PUMA bringing these two together by having KITH founder, Ronnie Fieg, rework the classic Trinomic running silhouettes.
The silhouette is the Blaze of Glory x HS x Kith USA which takes inspiration from the good ‘ol USA and features a colourway of red, white and navy adding new elements such as a co-branded forefoot strap and a quilted upper to create a totallu fresh appeal. More features include a tongue tab with debossed stars-and-stripes residing behind the tonal branded laces, red accents and a speckled Trinomic midsole.
The second pair in the collection is the Ronnie Fieg x HS x R698, talong inspiration from KITH’s Germanic roots, with a black premium nubuck quilted upper with bright red accents on the rear midsole and front outsole. This silhouette differs from the original R689 by removing the tongue and replacing it with a mesh-neoprene inner-sock. It also features the classic PUMA stripes wrapped all the way around the shoe, as well as a moto-deboss pattern on the heel wrap, co-branded tongue patches and 3M German flag inserts on the medial form stripes.
EAct pair comes packaged inside a custom box that displays the graphics of each kicks respective country, doubling as standing magazine holder for your collection of Highsnobiety Magazines. In-store purchases will also come alongside a special KITH-edition of Highsnobiety’s 10th Anniversary Issue, with 100 copies being included at random to select online orders via KITH’s online store. The special-edition magazine boasts a black cover with a metallic silver KITH logo that actually scratches off to reveal a split USA-Germany flag graphic.
