Growing up in the mountains of Nelson BC, Eden Samara began her artistic journey writing folk songs and doing the choir thing, which later lead to sneaking out to raves and a love of dubstep. After backpacking around Europe and moving to Toronto, Samara began writing songs for what would become her debut DAYS EP, “a love letter to life as an awkward 20-something in the digital age.”
And that brings us here now, with the release of “Upside Down” – the first single off Eden Samara’s DAYS EP. We at Sidewalk Hustle are super stoked to drop the goods for your ears to enjoy and if this first single is any indication, this is a new artist you’ll want to watch. “Upside Down” is a tingling track that takes frustrating feels and turns them into a bubbly banger. As Eden Samara explained…
“Upside Down” is about the frustration of being smitten with someone who can’t make up their mind how they feel about you. One day they’re ripping your clothes off, the next they’ve decided that they are no longer interested…then they change their mind again and the cycle keeps repeating itself in a merry-go-round of lust and confusion.
I think we can all relate to that feeling of allowing yourself to be totally played by someone who only shows interest in you when it’s convenient for them.
