Hump day at World MasterCard Fashion Week was nothing less than thrilling with Pink Tartan, Joe Fresh, and Mackage showing strong cohesive collections that actually made us excited for another seasons of cold weather later this year.
Pink Tartan was prim as usual with an emphasis on wearable black outwear with kisses of metallics, fur, boiled wool, and leather. Pops of red (not pink) tartan, leather full skirts, and graphic printed silk made for a well put together, somewhat mod look in Kimberly Newport Mimram’s collection for fall. Handy pockets were present in just about every garment, giving of an air of easy luxury through the collection.
Probably one of the most highly anticipated collections of each season, Joe Fresh presented a highly covetable and complete collection for fall winter. Perhaps one of the strongest in some time from Joe Mimram, the collection featured a ton of must have outerwear including army green parkas with pops of woven signature orange, oversized peacoats in military green cuffed with fur, belted with an oversized tie, emerald green moto jackets, faux fur vests, and light heather grey neoprene jacket. The models were all looking pretty cozy in mohair dresses, sweatshirts with foxes printed and woven on, sweaters, and beautiful silk dresses with loose silk ties. We’ll be helping ourselves to one of everything come fall this year!
The final show of the evening was set beautifully by fall coloured leave on the runway for Mackage with an epic mix of tunes by Brendan Fallis. Models wearing golden ear phones, layered up for fall in black, pops of pink, camouflage, tartan, and leather signified the fall portion of the collection while which ended with two gentlemen in leather jumpsuits with brooms who swept the leaves off the ground. For the winter portion of the presentations the Mackage look was decidedly bundled up with down filled pants for men, leather shirts, fur skirts, and fur trimmed parkas topped with pom pom beanies.
