Piaget continues its modern revival of the Polo 79 with a striking new two-tone edition that blends classic aesthetics with elevated materiality. Originally introduced in 1979 and recently reissued for the Maison’s anniversary, the Polo 79 has become a pillar of Piaget’s “sports-elegant” identity and this latest iteration pushes that legacy into a more expressive territory.
Rather than pairing steel with a precious metal like many contemporary two-tone watches, Piaget has opted for an all-gold construction. The 38 mm case and integrated bracelet are finished in brushed 18K white gold, while polished 18K yellow-gold “gadroon” ribs, a defining visual cue that runs horizontally across the case and bracelet, create depth, contrast, and uninterrupted flow from wrist to dial.
Inside, an ultra-thin automatic calibre 1200P1, featuring a micro-rotor that keeps the profile slim without compromising performance, a nod to the Maison’s longstanding mastery of slender movements. The result is a timepiece that feels as refined on the wrist as it looks on paper: elevated, sculptural, and unmistakably Piaget.
