I know this is somewhat mean of me to say, but generally speaking, I don’t pay any heed to what MuchMusic, Canada’s equivalent to MTV (yes we have an MTV, but MuchMusic has been around for decades) say to say about music. I tend to view them as a shill for mainstream top 40 music.
So imagine my surprise when I saw this very interesting interview with Pharrell Williams that was recorded a few weeks back. The interview delves into several topics, and although seemingly unimpressed or amused Pharrell does get into it. He talks about N.E.R.D.’s highly anticipated forthcoming album, the influences for the album, Pusha T’s signing with G.O.O.D Music, and even touches on his project with Lupe Fiasco and Kanye West, Child Rebel Soldier.
