In a surprise announcement, Pemberton Music Festival has been canceled and the event has filed for bankruptcy.

The B.C. camping festival—which we attended in 2016—was due to have Chance the Rapper, Muse, A Tribe Called Quest and more perform at the event in July, and organizers encouraged festivalgoers to purchase tickets—which started at $369—to avoid missing the boat in case tickets sold out. Now, all those that did purchase may not be eligible for a refund given the festival’s financial situation.

Organizers cite increasing operating costs, decreasing tickets sales and a falling Canadian dollar as the reasons. Ticket holders are being encouraged to pursue refunds through their credit card companies.

Bummer.
