The are very few places more breathtakingly beautiful than the Canadian Rocky Mountains. It’s humbling to see the full grandeur of nature, to stand surrounded by snow-capped mountains and glacial rivers, untouched (mostly) by human development. Now sprinkle in the middle of this Middle Earth type beauty, four stages of music and comedy from some of the worlds most talented artists and you get the Pemberton Music Festival.
Located in Pemberton British Columbia, 30 minutes outside Whistler, 3 hours outside of Vancouver, the four-day music festival is an endurance test of entertainment and fun. With top artists from all genres, including hip-hop, trap, rock, indie, and even comedy, there is essentially something there for everyone or whatever mood you may find yourself in.
Amongst the top and notable acts we saw, Savages, J.Cole, and Ice Cube really exceeded our expecations and left us wanting more. Some other standout performances worth mentioning came from Tyler, the Creator, Snoop Dogg, BØRNS, Wolf Parade, Miguel, Wiz Khalifa and comedian Craig Robinson.
The only downside to the festival being located in the epic grandeur of natures awesomeness is that no matter how busy the festival got it seemed small. There were moments when you almost felt bad the band. It’s hard and would be boring to try and sum up all the artists we saw, so just take a look at the pictures below. Know that if their picture is there, we thought they rocked the shit out of Pemberton.
