Rather than chasing spectacle, Onitsuka Tiger arrived at Milan Fashion Week with a quieter proposition for Autumn Winter 2026, exploring Ma, a delightful Japanese concept rooted in tension, pause, and the poetry of in-between moments.
Defined as the meaningful space between elements, Ma informed a collection that resists dressing for strict occasions or daily routine. Instead, the clothes exist in a flexible middle ground, shaped by personal character rather than context. On the runway, this philosophy unfolded through unexpected pairings where formalwear, casualwear, workwear, and sportswear merged into new visual languages.
Layering played a central role. A dress marked by horizontal bands appeared under an oversized herringbone hoodie, while an apple green pleated dress was offset with a compact corduroy vest bonded with boa and finished with oversized pockets. Elsewhere, a lightweight cotton checked blouse with floral inserts was styled with an ochre feather-effect midi skirt, grounded by a sky blue bow at the waist. Romantic notes surfaced through combinations like an apple green fleece worn over a candy pink blouse with a bow neckline, paired with a knitted mini skirt featuring patch pockets.
A relaxed attitude was sharpened by precise tailoring. Military-referenced double-breasted coats were worn with high-top sneakers, while an olive green blazer and pleated skirt set was layered over a floral checked shirt with ruffles. The same instinct shaped the menswear, where traditional codes were sidestepped in favour of expressive styling, including an off-white fleece jacket hand embroidered with flowers, worn with a lightweight shirt and soft khaki five-pocket trousers.
Footwear anchored the collection with the debut of the MEXICO 66 SQUARE, a slim and flat-focused reinterpretation of the iconic MEXICO 66, introduced to mark the 60th anniversary of the Onitsuka Tiger Stripes. The model appeared in lizard-print and floral versions alongside solid colorways. Two slingback heels completed the lineup, one defined by a pointed silhouette with a fold-over leather flap and belt, the other reworking the signature stripes.
Accessories extended the idea of personal expression. A new compact rectangular studded crossbody bag debuted with a vertical strap closure joined by a series of modular charms designed for bags and belts. From colourful bows and mini earphone pouches to lipstick holders and eyewear cases, the details encouraged play and customization.
With Autumn Winter 2026, Onitsuka Tiger framed dressing as an active space rather than a fixed state, offering clothing that live comfortably between habit and exception, and finds meaning in between.
