One Direction just surprised fans again by unceremoniously dropping their “Drag Me Down” music video. Louis Tomlinson tweeted the link out in the very wee hours of this morning, thanking fans for their support.

“Drag Me Down” is the first track we’ve heard from a Zayn Malik-less One Direction. It was a move towards a more mature sound and we hoped the British boy band would give up their quirky music videos for something more indicative of their current situation. They didn’t disappoint. The video was shot in Houston, Texas at NASA. As a nod to the overall theme of the song, the individual members are featured in various scenes training to blast off into space (Get it? Because gravity and…) It’s like Space Cowboys meets Independence Day, without the aliens. Unlike their previous Ben Winston-directed videos, this one was done by Gabe and Ben Turner (The Class of 92). Watch “Drag Me Down” above.
