Earlier this year Nintendo announced they were discontinuing the production on their instant sell-out rereleased NES without any reason. Many people at the time groaned in frustration as their opportunity to get one of the coveted machines was now gone forever. However, the smart money was that Nintendo was in the process of parleying their success with the NES Classic into something more, a mini SNES. Well today the Japanese entertainment brand announced the release of the Super Nintendo Classic, which will be out on September 29 for $80 and include 21 games including the previously unreleased Star Fox 2.
Oh shit! Arguably the only thing better than a mini NES with a ton of games, is a SNES with a handful of games. Let’s be real, at home gaming hit its stride with the SNES. From Mario Kart to Mega Man X, Star Fox to The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, the SNES was the go to system. You can guarantee this is going to be impossible to get at a store.
