The World Cup has brought Brazilian culture to the forefront and Nike Sportswear’s latest collaboration does the same. Their Nike Roshe Run and Air Max 1 sneakers are not only fan favourites, but are now the canvases for Flavio Samelo and his wife, Jayelle Hudson’s art. While both artists work primarily in photography, their subject matter couldn’t be more different. Samelo focuses on architecture, while Hudson prefers anything organic and in nature. For this project the couple decided to fuse their work and the results are amazing. An overlay of one of Samelo’s photos and one of Hudson’s create the juxtaposed patterns on each shoe.
Both sneakers’ uppers display the two artists’ work in black-and-white , which contrasts the bold volt Swoosh accents and linings. The Roshe Run “Pulso Forte” edition will be available on July 11th at select Nike Sportswear retailers and Nike.com while the Air Max 1 “Foco Bonito” drops on August 8th.
