Virgil Abloh’s highly anticipated collaborative effort with Nike has finally been revealed. The design project, aptly titled “The Ten,” features ten notable Nike silhouettes reworked by the OFF-WHITE™ designer and organized into two themes: “REVEALING” and “GHOSTING.”

The collaboration spanned ten months (one of Nike’s fastest collaborations to date) and began with the “REVEALING” collection featuring an Air Jordan 1, Air VaporMax, Air Max 90, Air Presto and Blazer Mid. Each silhouette was reworked by Abloh with an X-ACTO knife in an effort to look hand-made and accessible to any potential designer. “Yes, we’re making a desired product, but by making a trip to your local store, and using tools you have at home, you could also make this shoe,” said Abloh in the official press release.

Abloh’s cut-and-sew interpretation of the first five silhouettes inspired a second collection entirely devoted to exposing the human design element of more sneakers. The second half of the collaboration, titled “GHOSTING,” features translucent versions of the Zoom Fly SP, React Hyperdunk 2017, Air Force 1 Low, Air Max 97 and Converse Chuck Taylor. “I spend a tremendous amount of time thinking about the kid in the middle of nowhere who has a passion for design, much like I did,” said Abloh. “He or she needs a path like this to understand design.”
