In 1991, amateur photographer and journalist Gilbert Blecken interviewed the epic 90’s game-changing rock band Nirvana, backstage after a show in Berlin. 25 years later, he decided to share the high res photographs (some have never been published before), the interview transcript as well as a list of Kurt Cobain’s favourite albums as discussed during the interview for the public to peruse.
For 40 minutes in 1991, Gilbert had a chance to talk nonsense with the band, and has an impressive collection of 20 random photos to show for it. Gilbert claims he finally decided to share the images with the public, to allow others to have a piece of real Nirvana memorabilia that they could print for themselves. Have a peek at a few photos below and read about Gilbert’s experience here.
