In the ongoing move to be more than a streaming service of other people’s content, Netflix makes its next move with the release of the trailer for their Jerry Seinfeld lead Pop-Tarts origin story comedy. The movie titled Unfrosted features a massive cast of actors who will star alongside Seinfeld, including Hugh Grant, Melissa McCarthy, Jim Gaffigan, Amy Schumer, Max Greenfield, Christian Slater, Bill Burr, Daniel Levy, James Marsden, Mack McBrayer, Thomas Lennon, Bobby Moynihan, Adrian Martinez, Sarah Cooper and Fred Armisen. Wowza!
Unfrosted stars writer-director Jerry Seinfeld. Apparently, the movie has been floating around in Seinfeld’s mind for years, with him Tweeting about it in 2018 before being officially announced in 2021.
At one point I was thinking about an invention of the Pop Tart movie.

Set in Michigan in 1963, Unfrosted comedically follows cereal giant Kellogg and Post’s race to find the ultimate breakfast pastry. The movie will premiere on Netflix on May 3.
