One of our favourite premium denim brands happens to be the Canadian company Naked & Famous, known for making superior quality jeans at a reasonable price. Today they have released a pretty interesting concept for their latest pair of jeans, glow in the dark Japanese raw denim. Though it is not the first time we’ve seen glow in the dark jeans, it IS the first time we see a pair that looks fresh with the lights on. The jeans are the standard “Weird Guy” selvedge denim style, that have been dipped in a glow in the dark resin coating, baking it into the fabric in order to enhance its light-absorbing capabilities.
“The jeans work because we apply a phosphorescent coating to the fabric in Japan. This coating is baked into the fabric and will absorb light and slowly release that light with an emanating green glow, just like those Glow in the Dark stickers we had on our ceiling as a kid. Another fun aspect of the jeans is after you beat them up a bit the wear patterns will cause the coating to fade in certain parts of the jean and will create a unique piece of glowing art!”
These limited edition jeans are available now at select stockists and will run you roughly $240 USD.
