One of the most crucial and important accessories I have is my sunglasses. I rock them on patios while enjoying ice-cold beverages and at music festivals rocking the F out. The trick for me when it comes to sunglasses though is that I wear glasses and I DON’T wear contacts. The reasons for this are many, and not worth getting into, but simply put contacts are not conducive to my particular lifestyle. This basically means that when it comes to sunglasses I am a picky person, because not only am I going to have to pay for the frames but I am going to have to pay for the prescription lens. This year when I went shopping for my “go-to” 2011 summer sunglasses I decided to check out LensCrafters.
The glasses I picked out were the classic Ray-Ban Wayfarer sunglasses. The distinctly iconic design and shape really appealed to me. As I said I went to LensCrafters because I knew they had a huge selection. The staff was friendly, the selection was outstanding and my glasses were ready in under an hour. That’s including the time it took to exactly measure and fit the glasses to my head using some sort of high-tech laser apparatus.
Normally I wouldn’t go on such a long-winded diatribe but this is definitely one thing I feel passionate about, especially since my black Wayfarers have become my quintessential summer accessory. I think the other thing that really got to me was the statistic that of the 236 million adults in the United States (Let’s make it 250 and include Canada), 150 million wear glasses, that’s 64% of the population. Yet, only 11.5% of that number are wearing sunglasses made with their prescription. Yeah, that was me for YEARS!
The point being, if you wear prescription glasses and want to rock a fresh pair of sunglasses you have to check LensCrafters out. Seriously, get on it.
