When we heard UK dance poppers Friendly Fires were coming back to Toronto in May, we wondered if they were about to announce a new album, and then bam, we heard news of Pala, their upcoming sophomore release set to drop this spring via XL Recordings.
After a few rumours, the title, Pala, has been confirmed and is named after the island by the same name in Aldous Huxley’s novel Island. The bands frontman Ed Macfarlane also revealed that Alex Frankel of Holy Ghost will appear on the record which he wrote in seclusion at a cottage in northern France.
Check out Holy Ghost’s cover of Friendly Fires’s track “On Board” below and be sure to check them out live when the come to Toronto.
