Here is the official music video for “History” by Mos Def featuring Talib Kweli, produced by the late, great J. Dilla, off the album The Ecstatic! This is a good song, mellow with an old school vibe, and the video does it justice. I know I am going to get a lot of guff for this, but I don’t really care for Mos Def’s solo projects, I always find them a smidge… boring. Don’t get me wrong, I love Mos, dude almost ran me down in New York on his skateboard and I still got nothing but love, however… The last solidly good album he made was about ten years ago, along said Talib Kweli as Black Star. That album is gold! One of the best hip hop albums of all time, but other then a handful of songs off his three solo albums, Mos seems do do his best work along side someone else. Harsh. I know. Oh well.
