Marni has officially entered a new chapter with the appointment of Meryll Rogge as its new creative director. The announcement marks a shift for the Italian house as it looks ahead following the departure of Francesco Risso, who led the brand for nearly a decade.
Rogge brings a background that balances industry experience with an independent point of view. A graduate of the Royal Academy of Antwerp, she previously worked at Marc Jacobs and later served as head of womenswear at Dries Van Noten. In 2020, she launched her own label, earning recognition for its thoughtful construction, inventive use of materials, and emotionally driven design language.
The appointment was announced by OTB, Marni’s parent company; chairman Renzo Rosso praised Rogge’s sensitivity in interpreting brand identity, while CEO Stefano Rosso highlighted her ability to guide Marni across ready-to-wear, accessories, and communication.
Marni has long been defined by an artistic and unconventional spirit since their founding in 1994 and Rogge’s work, which balances structure with playfulness and craft with emotion, feels perfectly aligned with that legacy while offering room for evolution.
As she prepares to shape her first collections for the house next February, Rogge steps into the role at a moment when fashion is increasingly valuing clarity, intention, and creative depth. Her appointment signals not a reset, but a considered progression for Marni’s future.
