The Maserati name has always represented Italian performance, racing ambition and automotive legacy. Now, the story behind one of the world’s most recognizable marques is coming to the big screen with Maserati: The Brothers, a new biopic starring Al Pacino, Sir Anthony Hopkins and a cast of major names.
The first teaser trailer has arrived, offering a look at the rise of the Maserati family and the three brothers who helped shape the brand’s future. Directed by Academy Award winner Robert Moresco, the film follows Alfieri, Bindo and Carlo Maserati as they battle financial struggles, family pressures and the challenges of building a racing empire.
A major focus of the story is Maserati’s historic back-to-back Indianapolis 500 victories in 1939 and 1940, moments that helped establish the company as a true force in motorsport. The film also recreates the era’s racing machines, including the iconic Maserati 8CTF driven by Wilbur Shaw, while capturing the danger and intensity of early competition.
The cast brings serious star power to the project. Al Pacino plays Vincenzo Vaccaro, an early investor in the company, while Sir Anthony Hopkins portrays financier Luca Antonelli. Michele Morrone leads the film as Alfieri Maserati, the engineer whose vision helped define the brand’s beginnings.
Andy Garcia and Jessica Alba round out the ensemble, adding more depth to the story of the family behind the name.
Shot across Italy in locations including Bologna, Modena and Rome’s Cinecittà Studios, Maserati: The Brothers looks to capture the ambition, innovation and racing heritage that built the iconic manufacturer. The film is expected to arrive in theatres in late 2026.
