Marni’s Fall Winter 2025 show unfolded as an immersive creative experience rather than a conventional runway. Developed through a month long artistic residency led by Francesco Risso, the collection was shaped in collaboration with Olaolu Slawn and the creative collective Soldier Boyfriend, blurring the boundaries between fashion, art, and performance.
Staged in the courtyard of Marni’s Milan headquarters, the presentation felt intimate and expressive, complete with hand painted textiles, live music, and a cabaret like atmosphere. The setting reinforced the idea of fashion as a communal act of creation rather than a polished end product.
On the runway, garments appeared as characters in an unfolding narrative. Suits crafted from faux fur, satin dresses adorned with oversized floral appliqués, and coats layered with painterly textures reflected Slawn’s raw visual language. Bold colors and expressive prints transformed each look into a wearable canvas, while sculptural silhouettes grounded the collection in Marni’s signature experimentation.
The show closed with a standout moment as Tracee Ellis Ross returned to the runway, wearing a vibrant satin gown that captured the joyful spirit of the collaboration.
