Marc Jacobs returned to the runway with a collection built around gratitude, reflection, and the power of fashion’s past to inspire the future. Presented on June 29, the designer framed the season as an act of self-expression, an offering of “light, shine, color, beauty and joyful exuberance.”

True to Jacobs’ approach, the collection came with its own “Credits and Receipts,” openly acknowledging references from fashion’s greatest names, including Yves Saint Laurent, Chanel, Prada, Junya Watanabe, Louis Vuitton, and Jacobs’ own archive. Rather than imitation, the runway felt like a celebration of fashion’s ongoing conversation, a visual lineage of ideas reimagined through his unmistakable lens.

Styled by Alastair McKimm, the collection delivered the drama Jacobs does best: exaggerated proportions, sculptural silhouettes, bold color, and a playful mix of glamour and nostalgia. The result was a love letter to the designers and moments that shaped him, proving that looking back can be the most forward-thinking move of all.
