Mac Demarco continues the gradual rollout of tracks off his forthcoming album, This Old Dog.
The BC-born singer-songwriter has shared a brand new track, titled “On The Level.” Like his previous singles off this full-length project, the song is a stylistic departure from DeMarco’s normally unorthodox sound, and features a vibrant synth-laden melody contrasted against somber lyrics.
In the single’s accompanying press release, DeMarco divulges:
“This record has a lot to do with my family and my life right now and the way I’m feeling. […] One of the main goals for this record was trying to make sure I retained some kind of realness. That’s the bottom line.”
