The rumor is true, there is a new M.I.A. track and video. Coming via Opening Ceremony the new video was recorded at M.I.A. H.Q. in Los Angeles, her new home, and filmed exclusively with her MacBook screen-mounted camera. This lo-fi and overly simplistic video corresponds perfectly with the hauntingly beautiful vocals and mellow beat, produced by English Dub-Step King, Rusko, aka the Cockney Thug. If this new video and song are any indication of the musical direction of M.I.A.’s new album, expected to drop Summer 2010, then I think we can all expect to be in for a pleasant surprised.
