The LVMH Prize for Young Fashion Designers has revealed their shortlist of 21 designers.
The list will first be reduced to 8 finalists and then the winner of the 300,000-euro prize will be announced on June 16. In the 21 designers, 14 countries are represented, 9 design womenswear, 10 menswear and 2 do both.
LVMH Prize founder and executive vice president of Louis Vuitton Delphine Arnault said:
“This year, two distinct characteristics stand out among the propositions of the candidates. First, streetwear in various forms influences many collections; and second, the gender diversity of the designs is emblematic of this edition. Boldness is the keyword of the creations of these 21 young designers.”
