Louis Vuitton’s Objets Nomades collection keeps getting stronger. Arriving for Paris Design Week 2026 is the Kubic Armchair, the latest addition to the House’s Pierre Legrain Homage Collection and a sharp revival of one of the designer’s most recognizable works.
Based on a Pierre Legrain design originally created for legendary French collector Jacques Doucet in 1923, the Kubic Armchair updates the Art Deco original with Louis Vuitton’s signature craftsmanship. Its geometric form pairs a trapezoidal backrest with faceted Nomade leather armrests and sculptural rosewood side legs, landing somewhere between furniture and functional sculpture. It’s a piece that feels just as relevant today as it did a century ago.
The chair is the newest chapter in Louis Vuitton’s ongoing tribute to Legrain, whose work helped shape the House’s early furniture ambitions in the 1920s. Best known for designing Louis Vuitton’s first furniture piece, he is revisited here through a contemporary lens as the brand continues to mark the centenary of the 1925 International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts.
On display from September 10 through 13 at the Hôtel Particulier Louis Vuitton in Paris, the exhibition also brings together pieces inspired by the archives of Pierre Legrain, Charlotte Perriand, and Fortunato Depero, alongside new works by Estudio Campana, Raw Edges, and Franck Genser. As Objets Nomades continues to evolve, it’s clear Louis Vuitton is just as comfortable looking forward as it is digging through its archives.
