This fall, Louis Vuitton is finally giving us something to fill our monogrammed cosmetic pouches with — a much-awaited makeup line. La Beauté Louis Vuitton is launching this fall with legendary makeup artist Pat McGrath at its helm, serving as creative director. McGrath isn’t new to Louis Vuitton, having worked with the house for more than two decades, bringing her genius to shows including their Cruise 2019 presentation, which included painting flaming roses on models’ foreheads, and the psychedelic Ziggy Stardust-like looks that came out of their Resort 2016 collection.
“Working backstage for over 20 years at Louis Vuitton fashion shows, I am thrilled to now play such a key role in the launch of La Beauté Louis Vuitton, which is the result of extraordinary craftsmanship, creativity, and innovation,” McGrath said in a press release.
The range of products will include 55 lipsticks, 10 lip balms and eight eye palettes. Plus, there will be lipstick cases and a miniature trunk. Beauty isn’t new to the brand. In 1920 they designed powdered compacts, brushes and mirrors, and they introduced fragrance into their portfolio in 2016, including the recently launched LV Lovers.
“The beauty universe is about so much more than just product, and what we are creating here will unlock a new level in luxury beauty,” McGrath is quoted saying on the Louis Vuitton website.
We can’t wait.
