Once again, Louis Vuitton will host the legendary challenger races, renewing its partnership as the title partner of the America’s Cup. The legacy will continue with the Louis Vuitton 38th America’s Cup taking place in Naples, in 2027. Before reaching Italy, the five teams — Emirates Team New Zealand, GB1, Luna Rossa, Tudor Team Alinghi and K Challenge — will compete in several preliminary races starting in 2026.
The eliminatory round will start in May 2027, in Naples, with teams looking to defeat Emirates Team New Zealand, who won the Louis Vuitton 37th America’s Cup for the third consecutive time.
Visually, the creative signature for the Louis Vuitton 38th America’s Cup will be a graphic designed by Gaston-Louis Vuitton, which features the “V” of Vuitton in addition to the Louis Vuitton Cup. Gaston-Louis reimagined the “V” in the 1900s, making it into his personal signature, allowing him to identify his luggage at a glance.
Louis Vuitton sealed its first sporting partnership with the America’s Cup back in 1983, revolutionizing the sport by introducing challenger elimination rounds, known as the Louis Vuitton Cup, opening the race up to more teams.
“We are delighted to support the America’s Cup in its new transformation, ushering in an even more modern and inclusive era. Together, we experienced the Cup’s first major transformation in 1983 with the creation of the Louis Vuitton Cup, and today we are honoured to be present for this new historic edition, the first to take place in Italy, once again demonstrating that Victory Travels in Louis Vuitton” – Pietro Beccari, Chairman and CEO of Louis Vuitton
With a partnership centred around innovation, performance, and elegance, all eyes will be in Naples in 2027 as the five teams look to win the ultimate prize in sailing.
