Settling much anticipation, Lorde has finally dropped her sophomore album Melodrama, her first since 2013’s highly acclaimed Pure Heroine.
Avid fans of the 20-year-old New Zealand singer-songwriter have been eagerly awaiting the project since her four well received singles — “Sober,” “Green Light,” “Liability,” and “Perfect Places.” Speaking with the New York Times, Lorde explained that Melodrama is meant to explore the ebb and flow of emotions during a house party.
