British indie rock group The Wedding Present came to Toronto’s Horseshoe Tavern on Wednesday night in support of their new record Going, Going…
The setlist drew mostly from their new record, with a selection of tracks from their other records sprinkled in to appease the die hard fans. Singer David Gedge was forced to keep a tablet on stage in order to remember some of the lyrics, though with 30 years of songs under their belt it’s totally understandable.
Over the course of 18 songs, they gave the assembled crowd, skewing older than normal, a cross section of their massive career and made a good case for their newest material being just as relevant.
