Brooklyn Americana group The Lone Bellow brought the tour for their recently released album ‘Then Came The Morning’. With the show sold out well in advance the band took the stage to a packed Lee’s Palace. While folk bands with big multi part harmonies are currently all the rage, The Lone Bellow came at it with a bit more grit than most of their contemporaries. Most of this comes down to the great performance and rapport of singer & guitarist Zach Williams and other singer Kanene Donehey Pipkin. The five piece has a huge presence on stage and the capacity crowd was very much on their side.
Opening the night was California artist Odessa, whose mostly quiet songs had to contend with an audience that was not there to see her. She managed despite all this to impress though, and with a new album on the horizon, she’ll definitely have the chance to make a bigger splash her next time through.
