New Jersey’s Screaming Females brought their riff-heavy show to Toronto’s The Garrison on Tuesday night. Fronted by real life guitar hero Marissa Paternoster and backed by a tight rhythm section, the band tore through a fan written set list covering their career at its most blistering moments.

Kicking off with “Laura and Marty” the band then proceeded to shred their way through an hour of Paternoster’s massive guitar solos. The band has assembled a stellar discography over the past six records and it was all on display for the eager audience. The band has been visiting north of the border more frequently over the past few years and it’s only a matter of time before they blow up – they’ve put 12 years into the band and it shows in the ferocity and precision of their live show.
