Last weekend in Montreal while covering Osheaga we slipped out for a few hours to check out the second stop on the first ever #EtsyRoadTrip. Following a food truck line up in Olympic Park on Friday, the Etsy airstream moved down to Old Port for an afternoon showcasing sellers Noemiah, Kristy Boisvert, and The Angry Weather, along with a special live performance by Montreal’s Little Scream. The good folks at Etsy had decked out the airstream with big balloons, checkered streamers, and picnic tables complete with knit cactuses by Yeff Knits and vintage mad libs.
We perused Noemiah’s handmade jewellery, Kristy Boisvert’s playful cards, colouring books and stuffed owls, and The Angry Weather’s handmade stacking rings and necklaces before Little Scream took to the stage wearing various handmade items from Etsy sellers. Though her set was threatened by impending grey clouds and the possibility of rain, she played through a few of her hits and even did a few acapela covers of her favourite classic tunes.
We were really impressed with how her interesting sound translated live even given the technical difficulties she had. You might recognize her vocals from The National’s album High Violet in which she was featured, and after hearing her perform live, she definitely going on our list of artists to watch.
