While most were napping away their Thanksgiving feasts on Monday evening, we were heading down to the newly renamed Scotiabank Arena to watch Damon Albarn and his Gorillaz kick off their Now Now tour. Even better yet, joining them on the first four stops are album of the year contenders The Internet.

Syd and the rest her .com rolled into the city in proper fashion, playing their first ever arena show. The short but sweet set included a good portion off their newly released Hive Mind, plus a couple old favourites. We’ll look forward to them returning to our city for more than a forty-five-minute set.

Gorillaz told the Sun recently that this would be their last album for 10 years, needless to say, they made a lasting impression for what might be their last stop in Toronto for a decade. The massive 26 song set shook the newly painted arena, ending with a massive “Feel Good Inc.” encore.
