Toronto folk rock staples Elliott Brood celebrated the release of their new album ‘Work and Love’ with a packed show at the Phoenix Concert Theatre. The core trio of Casey Laforet, Stephen Pitkin, and Mark Sasso was backed up by an excellent slide guitar player helping to fill out their live presence. Backed by dozens of customized balloons and cut outs of their logo, on top of an excellent light show, it gave the stage quite the impressive look. Both Sasso, and Laforet both sounded phenomenal, as they traded leading vocals back and forth between songs. Across an hour plus set they touched on material from throughout their lengthy career, though focusing heavily on the newest album, with choice older cuts saved for later in the set. The fans all along the front of the crowd seemed thoroughly pleased with the set as they danced in front of the stage.
