When you are arguably one of the best supercar makers in the world, it’s only natural to want to step outside your sphere and see what else you can make the best of. So naturally, Lamborghini has partnered with the makers of arguably the best and most iconic turntables, the Panasonic Technic, aka “1200s”, for a special collaborative SL-1200M7B. The co-branded model of the SL-1200M7B is a special edition based on the SL-1200MK7/SL-1210MK7 DJ models from the SL-1200 turntable series, which every record-playing DJ in the world used before they all went Macbook and USB drive. As a fun added bonus, the tables come with a vinyl record filled with the engine sounds of several Lamborghini vehicles. Vroom Vroom!
The turntable’s design is galvanized by Lamborghini’s signature “Y” shape, with tones inspired by those on the automakers’ cars: Arancio Apodis, Verde Shock and Giallo Athon. With a two-layer structure platter, the model features a coreless direct drive motor that stabilizes rotation and a robust tonearm that can accurately read signals engraved in records. Additionally, the device’s high-damping insulation thoroughly shuts out vibrations; the pitch control function stabilizes pitch adjustment, and the reverse play function offers more flexibility for DJs’ playing styles.
The Technics for Automobili Lamborghini SL-1200M7B Direct Drive Turntable System functions are essentially the same as they are based on the SL-1200MK7/SL-1210MK7 models, but with the design is inspired by Lamborghini’s iconic Y-shape pattern. The SL-1200M7B’s colours are orange, green, and yellow, also based on the most iconic colours of the brands marque’s super sports cars.
The Lamborghini x Technics SL-1200M7B turntable is available for pre-order from your local authorized Technics stores and will launch in July. No Price details have been announced, but it will probably be the normal price of some Tek1200s plus a couple of extra dollars for the Lamborghini aesthetic.
