Lady Gaga is back with her brand new single “Perfect Illusion.” Mother Monster teamed up with hitmakers Mark Ronson, Kevin Parker of Tame Impala, and BloodPop for her return, it was a given this song was gonna bang from the moment we learnt who worked on it. It’s been three years since Gaga’s released music on her own – her last projects being a jazz album with Tony Bennett, and the moving Academy Award Nominated power ballad “Till It Happens To You” for The Hunting Ground – and “Perfect Illusion” is a nice punch in the gut. The instrumentals are as woozy as a Tame Impala track, while Gaga channels some Stevie Knicks realness pounding through the chorus. Welcome to a new era of Gaga!
