Lacoste returned to Roland-Garros for its Fall/Winter 2026 show, transforming the Philippe Chatrier court into the setting for a “Washed Out Match.” The collection draws from a 1923 Davis Cup match where René Lacoste defeated Spain’s Manuel de Gomar after heavy rain flooded the court and delayed play for two days.
Creative director Pelagia Kolotouros used that moment as a starting point, focusing less on the match itself and more on the atmosphere around it, think spectators waiting out the storm in trench coats, ponchos, and umbrellas, chic and relatable! Even Roland-Garros was dressed for the occasion with the set transforming the stands and the floor covered in clay coloured plastic sheeting, water pooling in areas behind the seating.
Outerwear leads the collection, continuing Kolotouros’ exploration of technical layering. Trench coats, ponchos, and waterproof pieces appear alongside padded nylon jackets with reflective or wet-look finishes with the models hair messy and rain soaked. Softer elements like velvet, cable knits, and tailored staples including the René blazer balanced the technical elements for the perfect sports luxe look for which the brand is synonymous.
The season also introduces a collaboration with Scottish outerwear brand Mackintosh, known for its rubberized waterproof fabrics. Together, they developed pieces like a poncho polo, rain-ready tracksuits, and hybrid track jacket shirts that combine Lacoste’s sportswear codes with Mackintosh’s heritage construction.
Throughout the collection, Kolotouros builds on the idea of “tech-heritage,” blending archival references with modern materials. The crocodile logo returns in new embroidery treatments, while accessories such as the every popular Lenglen bag, racquet covers, and a transparent tennis ball clutch extend the collection’s sport-driven narrative.
The palette moved from khaki to rusty red to agave green with punches of pink, green and and metallic tones, inspired by wet grass and the clay courts of Roland-Garros.
Lacoste looks beyond the court itself for fall winter, exploring the relationship between sport, weather, and the culture that surrounds the game.
