Earlier this year, the French fashion house announced that Kristen Stewart, a long-time Chanel brand ambassador, would star in its latest campaign for Gabrielle Chanel’s new feminine fragrance.
In the one-minute clip directed by Ringan Ledwidge, Stewart breaks free from a gauzy cocoon to Beyoncé’s 2009 track “Runnin'” and runs towards a giant gold wall of Gabrielle Chanel fragrance bottles.
In a statement, Thomas du Pré de Saint-Maur, Chanel’s head of global creative resources, said:
“Instead of retracing [Gabrielle Chanel’s] life, we chose to put the spotlight on her free and rebel-at-heart personality.”
The intoxicating new scent, created by Olivier Polge, contains notes of jasmine, ylang-ylang, orange blossom and grasse tuberose.
